A Straight razor is a reusable knife blade used for shaving facial hair. They are also called cut throat razors in some parts of the world. Although straight razors were once the principal method of manual shaving, they have been largely overshadowed by double-edge razors that use disposable blades. Straight razors require considerable skill to use. The required skills were once a major portion of the curriculum in barber colleges.
