It is the responsibility of the buyer and not SelfDefenCe.com to ascertain and obey all applicable local, state, province and national laws in regard to the possession and use of our products.
The buyer further represents that all products purchased will be used in a lawful manner and that he or she is of legal age. Absolutely no sales to persons under the age of 18 years old.
Customs may charge you additional duties, tariffs or other charges upon delivery of your package. We do not have a means of determining how much these charges will be. Please contact your local customs authorities to inquire directly. These charges are unrelated to the shipping charges and are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

Customs Import/Export Restrictions
Due to US export restrictions, SelfDefenCe.com will NOT ship Pepper Spray outside of the USA.
US Customs has export restrictions on all types of stun devices including stun guns, stun batons, and the Air Taser. Further, many countries have import restrictions on stun devices.
IMPORTANT: Some countries have import restrictions on some of the products that we sell. so even if we are permitted by US Customs to export a product to you it still may not be legal for you to receive the product. We highly recommend that you contact your local Customs agent and ask directly about local laws and import restrictions before considering an order for any self de fence product. Failure to do so could result in your package being seized by your local Customs agency and possible fines imposed. The buyer assumes all risk.
All orders outside the US are handled on a case by case basis. This is because of various governments and customs regulations worldwide that may prohibit some of our products from crossing their borders.
In addition to the import restrictions that may or may not be enforced by your countries customs officers, there ARE export restrictions put in place by the US government that we do adhere to 100%
We cannot export stun guns without a license. We will not apply for a license unless there is a large order and the county of destination allows them in. There are no guarantee that a license would be granted if we apply.
Pepper spray is also a restricted item. Pepper spray can be shipped outside the United States under certain conditions.
1st is that the spray be going to a country that allows pepper spray. The UK and Canada do not allow pepper spray for self defense.
2nd is the can cannot be larger than 3 oz. All cans over 3 oz. require a license from the US government. We will not apply for a license unless the order is over $1000.00 US.
3rd is the "ship to" country must not be in the US restricted list.
4th is that you be willing to pay the Hazardous materials fee charged by Fed Ex. Usually $40.00 in addition to the international priority shipping rate. Average cost so send even one unit to a foreign country is about $85.00 US.Canada Restrictions:
The people's republic of Canada restricts most of what we sell. We are sorry, but no knives, batons, pepper spray, stun guns or anything even resembling a weapon will pass your customs. Canadian customs are no doubt the worst customs in the world to deal with. We cannot guarantee anything other than books and lock picks will make it into Canada.Shipments outside the US have no guarantees of any kind. When I say no guarantees it means that you pay for the item even if it gets confiscated. If they send it back we can try to reship or send you a refund minus shipping charges. Be sure you understand that some countries have import restrictions on some of the products that we sell. so even if we are permitted by US Customs to export a product to you it still may not be legal for you to receive the product. I will need to know what you want in order to quote you shipping. Payment will need to made in advance.
If you are paying by credit card, I prefer American Express or Discover (Novus), but I will take Mastercard or Visa provided you answer all the security questions so that we may verify the billing phone number and shipping address with your bank.
You also have these payment options available: Western union, international money order, American Express Travelers Checks, cash, bank wire transfer and bank check in US funds as forms of payment.

You can obtain an international money order or American Express travelers checks from your local bank, we treat them like cash.
You can send cash, but I recommend you wrap it in an extra sheet of paper so that it does not "get lost" in the mail system. You can also insure we get the letter if you register it.
If you want to pay with bank wire transfer then email us for our account information. There is a $10.00 additional bank charge to wire us money.
You also have the option of sending a bank check in US funds, but that will cost you an extra $15.00 for processing. It is the fee my bank charges me.

You can also go through the site and check out online. You may find the shipping charges a bit high. This is because the prices listed are actual UPS foreign rates. I can usually ship cheaper, but I will let you know this once we correspond through email.
